Abstract
This Act establishes the Liberia Maritime Authority as a body corporate and defines its functions and powers. The objectives of the Authority shall include the promotion of enactment of national legislation regarding discharge of the responsibilities of the Republic of Liberia under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982 and other maritime-related international instruments. Functions shall include the administration of this Act and development, coordination and implementation of the National Maritime Strategy. The Authority shall have also functions in coastal zone management.
