Abstract
This Agreement is composed of 5 articles. This Agreement deals with the bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Poland in the sphere of environmental protection. It specifies the areas of its sphere of application such as borderline water basins' protection, environmental and atmospheric protection on the local as well as on the global scale. The document determines the modalities of application of the Agreement in the following forms: preparation and realisation of joint programs and projects, consultations between experts, formation of working groups, convocation of conferences and seminars, exchange of specialists, exchange of scientific, technological, legislative and other information.

Entry into force notes
This Agreement enters into force from the date of signature for the period of five years and is prolonged for further five years by tacit accord should no one of the parts object to the prolongation in a written form three months before the expiring date.
Notes
This Agreement between Lithuania and Poland was signed 24 January 1992, between the then existing Lithuanian Department of Environment and the Polish Ministry of Environmental Protection, Nature Conservation and Forestry. The text of Bilateral Agreement signed between Lithuanian Republic and the Republic of Belarus, 14 April 1995 refers to the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Lithuania and not to the Lithuanian Department of Environment.
