Law No. XIII-1164 amending Law No. X-764 “On management of potable water supply and wastewater”.

Article 3 defines surface wastewater treatment plant as a company managed by a municipality, having acquired the right and obligation in accordance with the procedure established by this Law to manage surface water in the territory of the municipality. Article 13 shall be amended by adding item 13.3 of the following wording: “In the territory of the municipality, surface water discharged by the municipal council is managed by a public potable water supplier and a wastewater processor or another company controlled by the municipality. Surface waste water is managed in accordance with the Surface Waste Management Regulations. Surface water dischargers must meet the following requirements: (a) have permission to handle surface water in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts; and (b) own the right or otherwise have the right to manage and/or use the infrastructure necessary for the management of surface water in the territory of the municipality where it plans to provide surface wastewater treatment services."
