Abstract
Article 2 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Non-controllable levels of radioactivity are the values of radiation concentrations in the absence of substances that are generated by activities involving sources of ionizing radiation, which must be notified to the Radiation Protection Center or the State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate or which must be legalized, and radiation protection requirements shall not be applicable. Radioactive waste - spent nuclear fuel and other gaseous, liquid or solid non-radioactive materials that do not meet the criteria for non-control and which are subject to regulatory control by the Radiation Protection Center or the State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate. Closed radioactive source is a radioactive source in which the radioactive substance is permanently sealed in a capsule or in a solid container in order to prevent the release of radioactive material under normal conditions of use. The recipient of a closed radioactive source is a natural or legal person who receives a closed radioactive source. A supplier of a closed radioactive source is a natural or legal person who supplies or assists in receiving a closed radioactive source.” Article 25 shall be amended to add the following wording: “The procedure for import, export, transit and transportation of radioactive waste and/or spent nuclear fuel in the Republic of Lithuania shall be established by the Minister of Health together with the Head of the State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate.”
