Law No. XIII-1571 amending Law on Waste Management (No. VIII-787).

Article 4 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Waste management facilities meeting the criteria established by the Government shall be established and recognized as objects of state importance in the management of waste in accordance with the procedure established by the Government. Only municipal waste treatment facilities of state importance, recognized by the Government, may utilize or plan for utilization after treatment, waste and municipal waste that has an inert energy value, and the aforesaid facilities may be constructed at a distance not more than 20 kilometers from the residential area."
