Cabinet Regulation No. 347 of 2020 on Procedures for Granting State and European Union Support in the Measure "Temporary Cessation of Fishing Activities"

These Regulations establish the procedure for granting state and European Union support for the measure "Temporary cessation of fishing activities" in accordance with the EU law. State and European Union support (public funding) for a measure shall be granted in the form of an open project application tender. The purpose of the measure is to provide public funding to fishing vessel owners and fishermen for the temporary cessation of fishing activities: for the implementation of such an emergency measure in accordance with Article 33 (1) (a) of Regulation (EU) No 508/2014 , established on the basis of 1380/2013, and the implementation of which has been announced by the Ministry of Agriculture in the official publication "Latvijas V stnesis"; and to reduce the negative effects of Covid-19 in the fisheries sector from 1 February 2020, in accordance with Article 33 (1) (d) of Regulation (EU) No 508/2014 .
