Abstract
The Regulation prescribes the procedures for the combating and limiting of the spread of potato ring rot. According to the document, potato ring rot is caused by a quarantine organism Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus. In order to detect potato ring rot, the Regulation authorizes the State Plant Protection Service to undertake series of measures and imposes obligations on natural and legal persons to the same end. The document also adopts rules pertaining to Detection of the Organism in Potato Tubers and Plants (Annex 1); Media for Isolation and Culture of the Organism (Annex 2); Buffers for Test Procedures (Annex 3); Determination of Contamination Level in IF and FISH Tests (Annex 4); Validated PCR Protocol and Reagents (Annex 5); Validated Reagents for FISH Test (Annex 6); Eggplant Culture (Annex 7); and Preparation of Positive and Negative Controls for the Core Screening Tests PCR or IF or FISH (Annex 8).
