Abstract
This Regulation determines the eligibility criteria for the propagating material of fruit trees and berries and circulation procedures for the genera and species of fruit trees and berry trees mentioned in Annex 1 of these Regulations, as well as their hybrids. It is not applicable to the following categories of planting material: (a) destined for export to countries that are not members of the European Union; (b) destined for testing or scientific purposes; and (c) destined for breeding work. Planting material shall be classified as follows: (a) pre-base material; (b) base material; (c) certified material; and (d) standard material (Conformitas Agraria Communitatis – CAC). Plant Protection Service certifies the material as certified material if: (a) it corresponds to the description of the variety or the rootstock - the description of the species; (b) it is propagated from a certified mother plant; (c) it is not infected or infested with harmful organisms; (d) it is grown in soil in which the harmful organisms have not been detected; and (e) no damage has been detected during visual inspections.
