Abstract
The Regulation prescribes the requirements for co-existence of genetically modified crops; the procedures for registering growers of genetically modified crops, deleting thereof from the Crop Monitoring State Information System Register of Growers of Genetically Modified Crops and for exchanging the information included in the Register of Growers; and the procedures for supervising and controlling the growers of genetically modified organisms. According to the Regulation, it is permitted to cultivate genetically modified crop varieties that are included in the Latvian Catalogue of Plant Varieties, the Common Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant Species of the European Union or the Common Catalogue of Varieties of Vegetable Species of the European Union.
