Abstract
These Rules determine: (a) criteria for identifying the country where the food product was produced; (b) design and placement requirements regarding the indication – written information or image of the flag – about the country where the food product is manufactured; and (c) exceptions when it is not mandatory to place an indication of the country where the food product was manufactured. For the purposes of these Rules, the country in which a food product is manufactured shall be considered the country of origin of the relevant food product or the country of the location of the manufacturer, which is indicated in accordance with the regulatory enactments in the field of food circulation or voluntarily in one of the following information sources: (a) in the labelling of the food product; (b) in the accompanying documents of the food product; and (c) in the information about the food product provided by the supplier to the retail company in another way. At the point of sale of food, the retail company, with the exception of the website and mobile app, indicates the country where the food product was manufactured in one of the following ways: (a) in the price tag; (b) next to a food product or a group of products; and (c) at a food point of sale if all the food products distributed there are manufactured in the same country.
