Abstract
This Regulation establishes mandatory safety requirements for processed cereal food intended for infants and small children, as well as requirements for its additional labelling. It does not apply to dairy products intended for small children. The composition of processed cereal food and infant food must meet the following requirements: (a) processed cereal food - for the requirements mentioned in Annex 1; (b) infant food that is not mentioned in paragraph (a) and whose composition meets the requirements mentioned in Annex 2; and (c) when producing processed cereal-based food and infant food, shall be met the requirements set forth in the EU Regulation no. 609/2013, the substances mentioned in the Annex thereto in accordance with the composition criteria specified in Annexes 1 and 2 of these regulations. Processed cereal food and instant food must not contain pesticide residues in such an amount that could harm the health of infants and young children. The amount of pesticide residues in processed cereal food and baby food must not exceed: (a) the maximum permissible amount of pesticide residues specified in Annex 3; and (b) 0.01 milligrams per kilogram for pesticides not mentioned in the Annex 3.
