Abstract
This Regulation determines the procedure for issuing permits (licenses) for fishing for special purposes and scientific research purposes in the internal waters of the Republic of Latvia, the Baltic Sea's Gulf of Riga or the territorial waters of the Baltic Sea Republic of Latvia or in Exclusive Economic Zone. Permits (licenses) are issued by the State Environmental Service. A person who plans to fish for special purposes or for the purposes of scientific research submits an application to the service for obtaining a permit (license). The Service has the right to refuse to issue a permit (license) in the following cases: (a) if the application or the documents attached to it do not contain all the necessary information or false information is provided; and (b) if the documents listed, substantiating the need to fish for special purposes or for scientific research purposes, are not attached to the application. A permit (license) for fishing in internal waters, on the coast of the Gulf of Riga or the Baltic Sea is issued in accordance with the sample permit (license) form specified in the Annex. A permit (license) for fishing in the territorial waters of the Republic of Latvia (except for the coast) or in the EEZ is issued in accordance with the model permit (license) form specified in the regulatory acts on industrial fishing in the territorial waters and in EEZ.
