Statistics Law (2015)

This Law provides for official statistics in Latvia. Its purpose is to provide statistics on economic, demographic and social phenomena and processes taking place in the public, and also on the environment. Among others, the Law provides for censuses. It defines census as a set of activities carried out in a given period of time aimed at collecting data on statistical units included in the census programme. The following censuses are conducted in Latvia: population census; housing census; and agricultural census.
