Abstract
This Law consisting of 3 articles aims to replace article 2 of the original Law by providing that slaughtering female animals, irrespective of their species, is prohibited except under the following circumstances (i) when they are at risk of imminent death and cannot be rescued; (ii) if they are infertile or incapable of reproduction; (iii) when the females have reached the end of their productive lifespan; (iv) during periods of drought and when pasture conditions significantly deteriorate.
