Abstract
This Law, comprising 19 articles, seeks to establish a Public Water and Sanitation Company. This entity will be tasked with executing decisions made by Basic People’s Congresses regarding the operation and maintenance of water and sewage networks, purification and pumping stations, distribution stations, and control centers. Additionally, it will manage seawater desalination plants, collaborate with relevant authorities to manufacture necessary equipment and materials, and offer public and consumer services in water and sanitation for a fee. The duration of the Company is 25 years, possible to be extended, starting from the date of the company’s founding and registration. The Company charges fees for its services, calculated according to sound accounting cost systems (Article 7). It is governed by a popular committee. Under Article 13, all stations, facilities, networks, equipment, and devices owned by public entities engaged in activities transferred to the Company, along with their corresponding appropriations and financial allocations in relevant budgets, are to be transferred to the Company, which also assumes their rights and obligations.
