Resolution No. 290 of 2021 establishing the National Center for Agricultural Guidance, Cooperation and Information.

This Resolution consisting of 13 articles aims at establishing the National Center for Agricultural Guidance, Cooperation and Information, under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. The Center is responsible for preparing and implementing plans and programs in agricultural extension, cooperation, and information dissemination. Its main tasks include (i) developing and executing strategies to boost production and food security; (ii) supervising the Center's branches, extension units, and demonstration farms; (iii) enhancing the performance of extension workers in agricultural and animal production; (iv) collaborating with research centers and universities to address production issues; (v) conducting demonstration fields to apply research and advanced technologies; (vi) offering training programs and courses for farmers and breeders; (vii) producing and distributing visual, audio, and written information and educational materials; (viii) training rural women to enhance their contributions to production and sustainable development; (ix) coordinating with cooperative associations to implement extension and training programs; (x) engaging with similar organizations locally and internationally to foster cooperation.
The Center is administrated by a Management Committee responsible for developing the plans and programs necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was established and following up on their implementation, in particular (i) establishing the technical rules and systems necessary for the work of the Center; (ii) preparing the draft annual budget and final accounts; (iii) follow up and direct the entities subject to the Center’s supervision to achieve their objectives and evaluate their work. The employees of the Department of Agricultural and Animal Extension and Cooperation at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock shall be transferred to the Center.
