Resolution No. 87 of 2023 regarding the formation of the National Committee for Water Security and defining its tasks.

This Resolution, comprising 4 articles, establishes at Article 1 the National Committee for Water Security, tasked with proposing the national strategy for the water and wastewater sector, developing its implementation plan, and submitting both to the Council of Ministers for approval; specifically, it evaluates Libya’s strategic water reserves, determines total annual water needs and ways to rationalize consumption, assesses the annual cost of water production and ways to reduce it, reviews and inventories development projects in the water and wastewater sector and identifies their funding sources, and proposes investment frameworks for the sector.
