Law on accreditation.

This Law regulates the establishment and activity of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro, the manner and procedure of accreditation, as well as other issues of importance for accreditation procedures. Accreditation is a official confirmation done by the national accreditation body, that assesses that a certain organization actually meets necessary conformity requirements that are established by harmonized standards and, if necessary, all additional requirements, including requirements established for certain areas (sectoral schemes) for the performance of specific conformity assessment tasks. Accreditation determines the competence of conformity assessment organizations to perform work conformity assessment relating to the respective: 1) tests; 2) calibrations; 3) controlling; 4) product and process certification; 5) management system certification; 6) certifications of experts. The national accreditation body determines the competence of organizations for assessing compliance with accreditation. The Accreditation Body also performs the following tasks: 1) participates in the work of international and European accreditation organizations in accordance with the obligations assumed international agreements; 2) maintains a register of accredited organizations for conformity assessment; 3) performs other tasks in the field of accreditation, in accordance with this law, the founding act and the statute; 4) determines the accreditation rules.
