Abstract
This Law regulates the conditions and manner of recognition of the basic material for the production of reproductive material of forest trees, including the manufacturing, production control, finishing, quality, transport, use of reproductive material, collection, changes of data and information, jurisdiction and inspection.
The major purpose of this Law is to define the production and transport of reproductive material in terms of quality and provenance, with a view to sustainability of forest ecosystems (including the provisions regarding the genetic and phenotypic characteristics of the species).
This Law was prepared in accordance with the Council Directive of the European Union 1999/105/EEC of 22.12.1999. (laying the phenotypic and genetic characteristics of the reproductive material, as well as the international quality to be applied).
The Law is divided into XI Chapters and 59 articles, including inspection, offences and related penalties.
