Abstract
This Law regulates the organization and activity of the national body for standardization of Montenegro, adoption, publication, withdrawal and application of Montenegrin standards and related documents and other matters of importance for standardization. Standardization is a set of coordinated activities on the adoption of standards and related documents. A standard is a technical specification issued by a recognized standardization body for repeated or continuous use with which conformity of products, processes and services is optional. Main goals of standardization here identified are as follows: 1) improving the protection of life, health and safety of people, animals and plants and environmental protection; 2) improving the quality of products, processes and services, determining their purpose, unification/typing, compatibility and interchangeability; 3) development and improvement of production and circulation of products, execution of works, i.e. provision of services through the development of internationally harmonized standards and related documents for the rational use of work, materials and energy; 4) improvement of international trade, by preventing or eliminating unnecessary technical obstacles to trade.
