Law on taking and using biological samples.

This Law regulates the taking, use, storage, preservation, transport and destruction of human origin biological samples, taken for medical purposes and for scientific research, including additional conditions that health institutions must meet in order to perform related tasks, as well as other matters of importance for the protection of privacy, respect for human dignity and inviolability of physical and psychological integrity and basic human rights and freedoms. The provisions of this Law do not apply to gametes, embryos, fetuses and donated organs. Taking, using, storing, preserving, transporting and destroying biological samples of human origin, taken for medical purposes and for scientific research has to be performed in health institutions that meet the conditions prescribed by this Law (authorized health institution). Chapter VIII sets offences and penalty measures.
