Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the detailed conditions aimed to provide effective protection in terms of welfare for animals during slaughter or slaughtering, including the necessary methods and technical issues regarding the stunning and killing practices.
These rules are not valid for certain categories of animals such as: scientific purpose animals; hunting or sport-recreational fishing; cultural or sporting events; slaughter outside the slaughterhouse for own/personal use (farms, family farming).
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
