Regulation on the elaboration of the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment of the State Mineral Extraction Plan for the Period 2019-2029.

This Regulation proclaims the elaboration of the Montenegrin Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment that will consider the effects and impact of the State Mineral Extraction Plan for the programmed period from 2019 until 2029, and sets basic principles for its drafting.
Data to be considered and included in this kind of impact assessment shall contain information on all types of mineral resources present on the territory of Montenegro, with a projection of future mining activity, which should be in accordance with: potential balance reserves for already exploited beds; conducted geological surveys and surveys of economic importance for the deposits which are not currently in exploitation, taking into account their maximum utilization, also considering the non-renewability of such mineral resources.
This type of strategic assessment will analyze and evaluate the possible negative environmental impacts that may occur during the implementation and material execution of the above mentioned State Mineral Extraction Plan, which is aimed to ensure the use of mineral resources on principles of sustainable development, environmental and cultural heritage protection.
