Regulation on the establishment of the Environmental Protection Fund.

This Regulation here proclaims the establishment of the Montenegrin Environmental protection fund, classified as a limited liability company.
The principal aim of this fund is promote, engage and finance actions, measures and plans aimed to preserve, sustainably use, protect and improve the environment in general.
Activities of the fund are listed as follows: financing the preparation, implementation and development of programmes, projects and similar activities in the field of conservation, sustainable use, protection and promotion of environment, including energy efficiency and overall use of renewable energy sources at both state and local level.
The financial capital obtained and managed by the above mentioned fund shall be used for the following: protecting, preserving and improving the quality of the environment and climate, nature, air, water, sea, land, forests and geological resources; encouraging the sustainable use of natural resources; protection against climate change; waste management, rehabilitation of landfills, encouraging avoidance and reduction of waste generation, waste treatment and exploitation of valuable waste properties; promoting cleaner production, also by avoiding and reducing waste generation and emissions in the production process in general; protection and conservation of biological, geological and landscape diversity; promoting energy efficiency in all sectors of energy consumption; encouraging greater use of renewable energy sources for own consumption; promoting cleaner transport and the use of alternative fuels in transport; encouraging educational, promotional, research and development studies, programmes, projects and other activities in the field of environmental protection, energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources; realization of other related and/or accompanying activities of the Montenegrin Environmental protection fund.
