Regulation on the production and marketing of potato seeds.

This Regulation defines the categories, the method of packaging and labelling of potato seeds, methods and specific conditions of production, manner and method of performing professional control, content and deadlines for submission of reports on completed expert supervision, the content and form of the application for conduction of expert supervision, the content and form of certificates of recognition of seed crops and manner of keeping records of issued certificates, and many other.
As prescribed by this Regulation, the potato seeds intended for export must meet the conditions in the country of export.
This text transposes the rules contained in the Commission Directive 93/17/EEC of 30 March 1993 determining Community grades of basic seed potatoes, together with the conditions and designations applicable to such grades; Commission Decision 2004/3/EC of 19 December 2003 authorising, in respect of the marketing of seed potatoes in all or part of the territory of certain Member States, more stringent measures against certain diseases than are provided for in Annexes I and II to Council Directive 2002/56/EC.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
