Regulation on types of titles and authorizations for fishing vessel crew members.

This Regulation prescribes the types of titles, certificates of competence and special qualifications, detailed requirements regarding professional qualifications and seafaring experience for acquiring titles, for the purpose of issuing certificates, including the related program and method of training and manner for taking exams for acquiring necessary titles, the program and method of training and taking exams for special qualifications, among methods for issuance of obtained certificates and records of issued certificates for members of the crew of a fishing vessel, the conditions to be met by members of the commission for acquiring titles and qualifications and examiners.
Seafarers can acquire qualifications for performing the following tasks: 1) navigation; 2) handling and storing catch; 3) managing shipboard operations and caring for persons on board; 4) ship engineering; and 5) shipboard maintenance and repairs. The titles that a seafarer acquires while serving on deck on a fishing vessel are: master of a fishing vessel; officer of a navigational watch on a fishing vessel; and member of a navigational watch on a fishing vessel.
