Abstract
This Law amends the Law on Conservation of Water Resources and Rivers Law mainly about definitions and authorities that implement the principal Law. It is also about construction on river banks and offences. Section 6 of the principal Law is extensively revised. Section 6 is about the powers of the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems. The powers are expanded so as to include, among other things, granting permission after examining on the application for land utilization permit to carry out fish, prawn, crab, soft-shell crab and other husbandry works for commercial purposes in the river-creek boundary, bank boundary and waterfront boundary. The Directorate may, if necessary, delegate its functions and duties to the Regional or State Offices and Township Offices subordinate to it (sec. 7).
