Law “On organic products”.

The purpose of this Law is to regulate relations related to the production, processing, certification, registration, use of organic symbols, advertising, and marketing of organic products, and the provision of state support and incentives to organic producers. This law shall apply to the breeding, production, preparation, processing, food production, service, transportation, storage, packaging, labelling, trade, export and import of agricultural and natural organic food, non-food raw materials and products, livestock, animals, fertilizers, seeds and seedlings. Organic production means the combination of traditional methods, biological and mechanical methods and technologies aimed at the rational use of resources, the balance of ecosystems and the preservation of biological diversity during all stages of organic production, both in transition and in all stages of production. The following guidelines shall be followed in organic production: (a) the healthy and safe existence of soil, water, air, plants, animals, and the population in the present and future, their immunity, and adaptation support and restoration of adaptive skills; (b) maintenance of ecosystem balance, promotion of biodiversity, respect of traditional culture and customs, and ensuring the sustainability of production resources; (c) market competition, fair and equitable practices at all stages of production, and the use of foreign inputs and knowledge sharing; (d) production using methods and technologies that preserve the organic and natural characteristics of products; (e) increasing the efficiency and productivity of organic production by combining traditional knowledge with scientific achievements; and (f) voluntary adoption of transitional and organic production. A certification mark indicating that the product is organic shall be placed on the label of the product certified and registered in accordance with this law.
