Abstract
Mongolian traditional medicine is a precious heritage of knowledge and intellectual culture, which is adapted to the physical, mental, and psychological characteristics of the Mongolian people, the living conditions and customs of nomads, and has its own unique appearance. Traditional medicine will be developed based on the principle of its widespread use in preventing diseases, treating diseases, and restoring lost abilities by enriching it with modern scientific achievements. The state administrative and health centers and local organizations shall be responsible for implementing the policy on the development of traditional medicine in accordance with the law. The state administrative central organization in charge of health issues shall have a unit in charge of state policy on the development of Mongolian traditional medicine in its structure, and shall rationally organize the local structure under the jurisdiction of health organizations and include it in a unified national network. The activities of private health organizations working in the field of Mongolian traditional medicine shall be fully supported.
The objectives of the National Policy shall be as follows: (a) to increase the availability of Mongolian traditional medicine preventive and therapeutic methods and procedures at the sub-district, district and general professional care levels; (b) to collect, protect, study and continuously use Mongolian traditional medicine heritage, books and artifacts, establish a unified information network, and continuously enrich and use them; (c) to encourage the creation of new traditional medicine methods for the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of some diseases that are difficult to solve in modern medicine; (d) training and retraining of Mongolian traditional medicine professionals in close coordination with the state's education policy; (e) to encourage the production of safe and highly active new medicines, biopreparations and food for the population using natural raw materials based on the achievements of Mongolian traditional medicine; and (f) study the distribution and resources of national medicinal plants, animals and minerals and use thereof without disrupting their ecological balance.
