Abstract
This Framework Agreement for Sub-regional Cooperation between the Governments of the Republic of Cape Verde, the Republic of Gambia, the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, the Republic of Guinea, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the Republic of Senegal aims at the establishment of the outer limits of the Continental Shelf beyond 200 nautical miles. For the purposes of this Framework Agreement, the Parties shall cooperate in the preparation of joint or individual proposals to be submitted to the Commission for the establishment of the outer limits of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles in accordance with the Convention. This cooperation will take place under the Agreement on Technical and Financial Cooperation between the Parties, on the one hand, and the Kingdom of Norway, on the other hand. In implementing this Framework Agreement, Parties may seek the support and collaboration of other partners, including the Economic Community of West African States Commission (ECOWAS Commission) and the United Nations Office for West Africa (UNOWA). The Agreement was signed in New York on 21 September 2010.
