Biofuels (Sustainability Criteria) Regulations, 2010 (L.N. 553 of 2010).

These Regulations give effect to articles 17, 18, 19 and 21 of Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources as well as to paragraphs (b), (c), (d) and (e) of article 7 of Directive 98/70/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council relating to the quality of petrol and diesel fuels. In particular, these provisions set out sustainability criteria for biofuels and bioliquids and further regulate verification for compliance with such criteria. Regulation 5 and the Schedule concern calculation of the greenhouse gas impact of biofuels and bioliquids.
