Abstract
These provisions lay down some amendments and addenda to the Control and Eradication of the Bluetongue Disease Rules. Firstly, the following definition of bluetongue disease is added: a non-contagious insect-borne viral disease of ruminants, mainly sheep and less frequently cattle, such as goats, buffalos, and antelope, caused by the bluetongue virus which is transmitted by an insect of the species Culicoides imicola and any other Culicoides insects. Further amendments concern national crisis units, which are animal disease crises management units or a facilities to provide animal disease analysis and information, and to deploy or sets up international resources to prevent and contain dangerous animal diseases.
