Deliberate Release into the Environment of Genetically Modified Organisms (Amendment) Regulations, 2019 (L.N. 182 of 2019).

These provisions amend and supplement the Deliberate Release into the Environment of Genetically Modified Organisms Regulations of 2010. The amendments concern, among other aspects, the Standard Authorisation procedure to be followed before undertaking a deliberate release of a GMO or of a combination of GMOs and the related notification procedure and assessment report. New provisions are inserted regarding measures restricting or prohibiting the cultivation in all or part of the Maltese territory, and measures to avoid cross-border contamination.
