Abstract
The amendments of the principal Act concern a wide variety of issues including, but not limited to: interpretation (art. 2); composition of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority (art. 3), functions of the Authority (art. 5), appointment of Director of Planning (sect. 6), organization and functions of the Development Control Commission (sect. 7), constitution and functions of the Planning Appeals Board (art. 9), right of inspection by the Board of the Authority, Commission or Appeals Board (sect. 16A), constitution and functions of the Standing Committee on Development Planning (sect. 17A), the Audit Officer appointed by the Authority (sect. 17C), an Interdepartmental Planning Committee (sect. 17D), review of Structure Plans and other assessment procedures (sects. 19 to 26), development briefs (sect. 26A), Subsidiary Plans (sect. 29A to C), publishing of proposals (sect. 32), Planning Mediators and their function (sect. 32), revocation or modification of a development permission (sect. 39), planning obligations (sect. 40), etc.
