Abstract
No person may, in the manufacture or preparation of any food for sale, use any fat or oil unless such fat or oil: (a) is an edible fat or oil; (b) is butter or margarine; or (c) has been duly assessed and, if necessary, authorized under the Novel Foods Regulations. Regulation 4 prohibits the importation, manufacture and preparation of any edible fat or oil obtained from any slaughtered animal which was found to be unfit for human consumption.
