Protective Measures Against Pests of Plants and Related Official Controls and Official Activities Regulations, 2021 (2283L.N. 304 of 2021).

The scope of these regulations is to provide provisions in relation to EU provisions on protective measures against pests of plants and on on official controls and other official activities performed to ensure the application of food and feed law, rules on animal health and welfare, plant health and plant protection products. The regulations also provide for the designation of the national competent authority and the Official Plant Health Officer and Certifying Officer. The regulations also provide for the establishment of the Malta Official Register(MOR)and the requirement that all professional operators that carry out any of the activities inherent to these regulations, which are listed, shall be registered in it. The relevant procedure is also foreseen.
