Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of Seychelles and the Government of the Republic of Mauritius on Fishing in Seychelles Waters.

This Agreement establishes the terms and conditions for governing the fishing activities of Mauritius vessels in the waters of Seychelles and for promotion of responsible fisheries to ensure the long-term conservation and sustainable exploitation of marine living resources.
Article 1 provides the scope of the Agreement and Article 3 sets out the principles and objectives which includes implementation of the Agreement in accordance with the principles of the fisheries policy of Seychelles and relevant legislation. The conditions governing access by Mauritius fishing vessels to Seychelles waters are defined in the Annex. Article 8 makes provision for establishing a joint committee for monitoring the implementation of the Agreement and other such functions mentioned therein. Article 11 lays down the procedure for settlement of dispute and termination of the agreement. The Agreement shall be valid for a period of one year from the date of its entry into force.
