Abstract
Notwithstanding any other enactment, swine found straying in public places may be killed by any person authorized in writing by higher authority or by any police officer. The owner may claim the animal within 6 hours (sect. 2). Section 3 provides that swine, poultry or goats found straying in any private premises or cultivated land may, at the request of the owner or occupier of the land, be killed by authorized public officers under such conditions and during such period as may be laid down in the act of authorisation. The owner of the animal, if known, shall be notified within 6 hours of the killing and shall have the right to remove the carcase of the animal. Where the carcase is not removed by the owner within 6 hours, the owner of the land may bury or destroy the animal killed on his premises (sect. 4). (5 sections)
