Abstract
These Regulations, made by the Minister under section 17 of the Animal Diseases Act, provide measures concerning veterinary laboratories. The Regulations define the following relevant terms: designated personnel; Division of the Veterinary Services of the Ministry; laboratory manual; licence; veterinary laboratory, for research of animal diseases and for storing embryos and reproductive materials for animal breeding. The Regulation concern: application for a licence to operate a veterinary laboratory; keeping a register where recording notes including: types of diseases tested, species of animals for collection of embryo, semen, follicles or such other gametes, the name of the veterinary surgeon responsible for validating test results; approval of laboratory manual, including waste management protocol, biosafety and biosecurity measures; offences.
