District Council of Grand Port (Jawaharlall Nehru Square Open Market) Regulations 2019 (G.N. No. 98 of 2019).

These Regulations, made under the Local Government Act 2011, provide rules for the functioning and administration of a market of the District of Grand Port. They specify the food articles that may be sold at the market and prohibits the sale or exposure for sale or keeping in a stall unsound, tainted or adulterated articles or food. They provide rules for the hygienic handling of food and for inspections. No person shall be authorized to occupy a stall in the Open Market unless duly authorized by the District Council by way of an authorization contract as per Schedule A to these Regulations.
