Abstract
These Regulations, made under the Environment Protection Act 2002, provide rules for the prevention of noise pollution in Mauritius.
As a general rule, no person shall make or cause to be made any noise which constitutes a nuisance, even if allowed by Regulations prescribing standards for noise. Whether noise shall be considered a nuisance or not, shall be determined by the competent authority in accordance with criteria laid down in these Regulations. A local authority may authorize certain activities listed in the Schedule relating to construction.
