Abstract
These Regulations prescribe national environmental standards in relation to effluent limitations for the sugar industry in the Schedule. They shall apply to effluents discharged underground or into a river, stream, spring, canal, reservoir or lake by a sugar factory. Any effluent which: (a) has one or more of the parameters specified in the first column of the Schedule; (b) does not comply with the corresponding limit specified in the second or third column of the Schedule, as the case may be; and (c)is discharged from a factory, shall be deemed to be a pollutant.
