Abstract
These Regulations, made by the Minister under section 206 of the Fisheries Act 2023, apply to any longline, purse seine, supply, semi-industrial or industrial fishing vessel that holds a valid and applicable licence under the Act. The Regulations concern the Electronic Reporting System (ERS), as an electronic device on a vessel, used for monitoring and reporting the vessel position and catch data. The Regulations provide for: compliance of the reporting system with the performance standards specified by the Law; data collection and management; obligations of operator of a fishing vessel, including entering the maritime zones of Mauritius from the high seas, landing operations, departure from ports, fishing gear type used, fish species harvested, transhipment activities.
