Abstract
The Mauritius Sugar Syndicate is declared under section 3 to be lawful "to all intents and purposes". Provisions of this Act summarily regulate legal actions in which the Syndicate is involved and matters relative to lending of money to the Committee of the Syndicate or planters forming part of the Syndicate. A special privilege in respect of sugar deposited by planters in the docks of Port Louis is established in favour of all lenders from whom the Committee may borrow for purposes specified in section 5. The creditors of planters who are members of the Syndicate, shall not have rights on their sugar and may not seize such sugar (sect. 6). (8 sections)
