Rivers and Canals Act.

An Act to regulate the drawing of water of rivers and canals and the conservation of water resources. The 99 articles are divided into 3 Parts: Rivers (I); Canals (II); General Provisions (III).
The Act makes, inter alia, provision for: drawing of water from river (sect. 3), jouissance of rivers (sect. 5) concessions (sect. 10), mode of abstraction of water (sect. 14), Supreme Court to fix sizes of apertures (sect. 22), right to springs (sect. 23), alteration of rivers and streams (sect. 25), fishing (sect. 31), classification of canals (sect. 32), right to canal water (sect. 33), prise d'eau (sect. 35), diversion of canal water (sect. 43), mode of administering classes of canals (sect. 47), community of riverains (sect. 48), appointment of syndic and joint syndic (sect. 53), riverains to keep the canal clean (sect. 65), jurisdiction (sect. 80), injunction (sect. 89), prosecution of offences (sect. 91), temporary servitudes (sect. 95), clearing and replanting river sides (sect. 99).
