Control of Goods Act, No. 15 of 2018

This Act applies to imports and exports of goods within the country including goods in transit or shipment through Malawi. The Act provides the Minister with powers to make regulations on import and exports of goods. The Act provides that the Minister shall exercise this power only after making prior consultations with the relevant interested parties, and that a notice of the consultations must be published so that interested parties may make representations with respect to the consultations. The Minister is authorized under this Act to inspectors to conduct inspections to ascertain compliance with the provisions of the Act.
