Abstract
This Act, which is organized in 8 Parts, applies to all persons and to all matters, as stated in Part 1. Part 2 provides for sex discrimination, harmful practices, sexual harassment and related workplace policy; it defines the prohibited behaviors and the relevant offences and penalties.
Part 3 is about the enforcement of the provisions of this Act which is responsible about the Human Rights Commission. It is also related to the powers and duties of the Human Rights Commission in relation to gender equality.
Part 4 covers the issue of the respect of gender equality in the public service as well as the instruments aimed at its guarantee (compliance order, transparency in recruitment).
Part 5 covers the equality in the access to education and training, including to scholarships and tertiary education institutions. It also provides for primary and secondary school's programs to integrate gender and human rights principles.
Part 6 describes in detail the sexual and reproductive health rights and the duties of health officers in respect of that.
Part 7 promotes the civic awareness of this Act and provides for the Minister to design and implement programmes to this aim. The Act is terminated by a miscellaneous Part.
