Abstract
This Act defines powers and duties of inspectors appointed by the Minister under this Act and the duties of owners of land regarding the prevention and control of pests and diseases affecting plants.
Owners of land shall take all measures prescribed by this Act and all such additional or alternative measures for the eradication, reduction and prevention of pests and diseases. An inspector may, among other things, order measures to be taken by owners of land and may order the destruction of (imported) plants. Appeal against a decision of an inspector may be had with the Minister. A purchaser of planting material infested by injurious organisms may return such material to the plant breeder and obtain the refunding of the purchase price. The Act further prescribes offences and defines regulation-making powers of the Minister.
