Abstract
The Regulations make restriction on the importation into a component region of plants, except where (a) the importation is made for research purposes, (b) is consigned to the Director of Agriculture or to the Director of the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia or (c) the plant has been subjected to quarantine or treatment at a place approved by the Director of Agriculture.
The Regulations are followed by five Schedules: Model form of the permit to import plants (I); Model form of the phytosanitary certificate to be signed by the authorized official of the plant protection service (II); List of plants which shall be destroyed if imported in contravention of these Regulations (III); List of dangerous pests which cannot be imported into the country (IV); List of appointed entry check-points (V).
