Abstract
These Rules regulate and control abattoirs and slaughter-houses.
The Rules stipulate that abattoirs have to be approved and possess a licence and that any person involved in the slaughter of animals has to be a registered user. The Rules provide the forms and manner in which applications for licences and certification of registration shall be made and fees, conditions and duration of the permits.
The Rules further provide for: brand, label or marking of animals or their carcasses; permits to slaughter and dress any animal at any place other than at an approved abattoir or licensed abattoir; penalties; etc.
